Welcome to the website for the 2011 County Jamboree which was held at Woodhouse Park from 27th to 30th May.
On behalf of the Camp Chief and the organisation team we would like to thank all of the campers and day visitors both young and older for making this camp what it was, and the emails coming in are saying it was successful. We do hope you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves over the weekend and there was a bit of something for everyone. The top activities seemed to have been the adventure course and the zorbing, even though there were queues. The decorated floats and costumes on the Saturday evening were fantastic, the fireworks were breath taking, the Avon’s got Talent was truly entertaining as was the judging, “I’m speaking” says Camp Chief in the mode of Simon Cowell, “This is my show!”. That quote will stay with him forever. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves at the Halloween Disco and the silent disco was an even bigger hit with the Explorers.
With over 2700 campers this event couldn’t have happened without the help of the teams working behind the scenes i.e. infrastructure, administration, the craft team, first aid, the staff caterers, security, activities and not forgetting all of those volunteers who assisted on these teams over the weekend. Our thanks go to all.
