Nikki Clake, 1st Olveston Beavers Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!!!
Thank you all for such an amazing day. Our Beaver Scouts had an amazing experience thanks to your hard work and incredible organisation. The children were completely exhausted by the time to leave came round but not too tired to give the assault course one last go! We handed filthy dirty, soaking wet, exhausted children back to their parents and the grins on their faces said it all. Already we have received thanks from parents which I would like to pass on to you and your team.
Dan Wood, County Commissioner: Wow – what a great Avon Jamboree! Thank you for all your efforts and dedication in making it possible. Events of this scale require an enormous amount of input from a very large number of people in order to be a success – and this one came during an especially busy month for the County. I was bowled-over by the variety and quality of the activities in the programme and the really wonderful atmosphere. The young people I spoke with during my visit were having the most brilliant time and I have no doubt they will remember this for a very long time to come. All our VIP guests were presented with an amazing showcase for our organisation.
Mark Heywood, The High Sheriff of Gloucestershire: Thank you for a most entertaining afternoon on Saturday. I was hugely impressed by the range ad scale of your Jamboree and the obvious energy and enthusiasm of everyone involved.
Vertical Extreme: the counter at the event totalled 3828 climbers (wow!)
Neil Harrington, Saxon Explorers: Our Explorers had a great Jamboree. We all give up lots of time to Scouting but we do so for the buzz it gives us in return and we have all come home with that buzz and renewed enthusiasm.
Nick Lake, Saxon Explorers: The feedback I got over the weekend and last night from our Explorers was that the catering choice was good as was the quantity, and they really enjoyed all the activities laid on - particularly the silent disco’s. I think that this camp certainly promoted the next one, which is always a good benchmark of it’s success – so well done to you and your team. This was my tenth consecutive Avon Jamboree, and by far the most enjoyable. The atmosphere on the Explorers Sub Camp was that of one team, and we are all looking forward to 2015.
32nd Bristol Cub: I’m not sure I can wait 4 years for the next County Jamboree
Pam Fyfe, 16th Kingswood Guides: May I thank you for all the hard work that was put into the Jamboree, they had a wonderful time. This is the first Jamboree that I can honestly say there was plenty to keep the girls occupied - they were spoilt for choice.
Janet Turner DC Wansdyke: All the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the highlight for the adults was the time we spent together in the marquee in the evenings - we haven’t laughed so much together for ages.
Roy Harvey DCSL Brunell: l would like to thank the very good transfer system from lower car park to our actual drop off point at Arctic Sub Camp for the less able to manage the transfer by foot” also for the special sanitory arrangments for disabled.
Ann Parker, Gordano: A huge thank you from us all at Gordano, we have had an absolutely fantastic Jamboree and are all still very tired! The YP thought it was really brilliant, the freedom to roam and try all the various activities was, for most, a first time experience and one they will remember for a long time. The atmosphere of so many YP and leaders joining together was amazing……
Explorer from Triple X Explorers: I am an explorer from gordano, I just wanted to say thank you so much for a fantastice weekend. It was so enjoyable, all the activities were brilliant and all the evening entertainment was great… especially “Avons Got Talent” which I performed in with all the Gordano lot. The whole vibe of the camp was alive and it was a very well organised event. Thank you again.
