County Commissioner

22 March 2011

I am delighted to advise you that Dan Wood, who will be well known to many of you, has been appointed County Commissioner for Avon and will take up the appointment from the 9th May. For those of you who may not know Dan, he has been involved in Avon Scouts from the age of six and has a wide range of leadership experience both within Scouting at all levels and in the wider voluntary sector.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Neil Salter for the excellent leadership that he has given to Avon over a number of years during which time Scouting in the County has gone from strength to strength and seen a significant increase in numbers of both young people and adult volunteers.

Dan will start the handover, with Neil’s support, from the 1st April and a further external communication about this exciting appointment will be made prior to the 9th May.

Please join me in wishing Dan well in his new appointment and Neil every success in whatever role he now decides to take.

With best wishes,

Gordon Weston
Regional Commissioner – South West England
