AIR ACTIVITIES
County Air Activities Adviser: Martin Webster
Air activities are open to all Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Scout Network members and Leaders, contributing to air orientated activity badges and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, as well as the progressive training awards of both “ordinary” and “air” Scouts.
All flying has some element of risk and must therefore be regulated by the appropriate national body and undertaken in accordance with POR and under the auspices of flying/gliding, etc. clubs in the area. Contact the Adviser for more details.
Members planning to undertake air activities are required to notify Scout Headquarters (tel: 0845 300 1818, info.centre@scout.org.uk) of their plans well in advance of the date of the activity.
A limited amount of air training materials, videos and air recognition slides are available from the Adviser; there will be a nominal charge to cover postage, etc. Gliding is one of the easiest ways to get airborne and can be arranged locally at modest cost.
