Introduction

Everyday Adventure is a vital part of Scouting. Activities are the heart of the programme. The Avon Scouts Activity Resource Booklet, and these corresponding webpages, tries to show some of the support and resources available to you through the Scout County of Avon and locally. Rules for adventurous activities are regularly updated. For current information consult www.scoutbase.org.uk. From the home page of the Scoutbase web site, under Programme Support, click on Activities. The A to Z Directory lists a wide range of activities and sets out a list of the POR rules and relevant fact sheets for each.

These are also set out in fact sheet FS120084 “Scout Led Activities Index” and FS120086 “Commercially Led Activities Index” which are under the heading of General Activities in the list of Fact Sheets on the site:

To the advisers, instructors and assessors who give up their time on a voluntary basis to promote activities for young people – many thanks. The County is very fortunate to have so many people prepared to share their skills and enthusiasm. If you can’t find what you want or are in any doubt, please ASK. Every one listed in this booklet is here to help you and your section. Please use this booklet to help young people benefit from the game of Scouting.
