Beginners and Improvers course for Adult
Helpers
Weekends of 6/7th March and 20/21st March
2010
An RYA qualification will be awarded
dependent upon ability and availability to
attend both weekends. Course suitable for
Leaders to enable them to helm a scout
boat. Other adults/parents who would be
prepared to join our rota to assist the
summer Taster sessions would be welcome.
Further training would be given for this and
would be by mutual arrangement.

RYA Stage 1
17/18th
April 2010
Designed as a follow-up to
introductory sessions, aimed at Scouts and
Explorers. This course provides both
practical and classroom tuition. Teaching is
carried out in a variety of boats, with
instructors seldom in the boats after the
first day. The boats used are
generally single handed craft, either
Toppers or Picos.
Participants attending aim to
attain RYA Stage 1 certificate.

RYA Stage 2
24th/25th April 2010
This course is intended for Scouts/Explorers
who have previously attained RYA Stages 1.
Teaching will be a
combination of shore-based course work and
practical sailing, principally in Toppers or
Picos. The class size is limited in number,
so much individual tuition is given.

RYA Stage 3 Course
1/2nd
May 2010 and 15/16th May 2010
This course is intended for Scouts/Explorers
who have previously attained RYA Stages 1
and 2.
Teaching will be a
combination of shore-based course work and
practical sailing, principally in Toppers or
Picos. The content of the course is quite
high and everyone should attend all
sessions. The class size is
limited in number, so much individual
tuition is possible.

2010
All participants to introductory evenings
and courses must be able to swim 50 metres
and must bring waterproofs and suitable
clothing including footwear that will almost
certainly get wet. Buoyancy aids are
